Description

Most hyperlinks are aligned now with the latest Gliffy - Confluence release, however, it appears when you have a carriage return in your text, or even a heading which is not of normal line height, the alignment between the text and the hyperlink is off.
So for the carriage return example, the hyperlink is a whole line above the text which it relates too.

This is pretty bad as the user thinks there should be a hyperlink but then it doesn't act like it should unless they stumble across the link just above the line.

May need to use something besides SVG transformation code to create image map of PNG images

Creating a recent Gliffy Diagram the hyperlinking issue was much worse than first reported.
Now the hyperlinks aren't just offset by a few rows, they are offset by a large distance to the right and then a few rows down.

Gliffy has come a long way with improving the lines / templates / structure of the tool, but the integration of correctly functioning hyperlinks is a BIG short coming. It won't stop me using Gliffy, but it will most likely stop others in my company adopting it.

Is there an expectation when this issue might be fixed?

Hi Michael,

We apologize for the issues with the links.

This will be fixed in the next major Plugin release, 3.1. This is slated for release in mid-August.

Thanks for the insight Clint.
This helps me communicate within my team that a fix is recognised and that your team is doing something about it. This is half the battle.

Good luck with your upcoming release.

Note that hovering over the link that is right justified in the attached 'links' gxml does not result in an active link. Rather, hover to the right of the words.

This issue was initially raised for this customer and even with the release, this customer never experienced a resolve.

Customer is using 3.0.4, I was able to replicate with diagram loaded to 3.0.6
Please see an xml attached to this issue "Only a Test" showing the problems. Diagram loaded here: http://confluence-3-3.gliffy.com/display/septtesting/Debi%27s+Testing#Debi%27sTesting-OnlyaTest/Debi%27s%20Testing
1. Hover over the red text "their" and no active link. It is to the left is way off (point to "come to" to locate the link).

2. The "hath" in the other red is fine.
3. However over "short line" it only works starting from the "rt" and going to the right.
4. Surprisingly the "even" works in "one even longer".

Note: I am able to reproduce this (Diagram name: my replication http://confluence-3-3.gliffy.com/display/septtesting/Debi%27s+Testing#Debi%27sTesting-MyReplicaton )

  • Creating a diagram with many objects (use floor plan template)
  • Add text box with three lines, add link, Save.
  • Hovering over Links work without problem.
  • Edit diagram, create additional text boxes with links. Save.

Expected Result: New links are active when hover
Actual Result: Hovering over links does not result in active link.

Customer report that Swimlanes Are not Aligned with Text in Swimlanes.
I was able to replicate:

see: http://confluence-3-3.gliffy.com/display/septtesting/Debi%27s+Testing#Debi%27sTesting-LinksinSwimlanes
"LinkTest 1" is active at the blue stars with "1" inside
"LinkTest 2" is active at the red star with "2" inside
I could not locate the active link for "Link Test 3"
