Description

A user reported this when Undo-ing a group with Lines, shapes and text:

I had a problem with moving several items that had been grouped. I was moving them with the keyboard and then tried to Undo. When I did this the items seemed to break apart, duplicate and scatter around the page. Several attempts to get diagram back to the way it was resulted in the items not being accessible at all on the page. They seemed to be off the page and no amount of re-scaling the page or selecting all could get them back.

From users:
Flash 9 in Firefox on Windows XP

I went through the following sequence and ran into a disaster:

1. Spent hours on a diagram.
2. Dragged over everything and used the arrow key to "nudge" my entire design down a bit.
3. Decided I moved it too much.
4. Hit CTRL+Z to undo what I did...
5. Absolute disaster.

My design was in complete shambles and I gave up.

Moving to iteration 3 to keep the focus of iteration 2 on getting Online to work with Folders and any other new backend features, and the migration to OpenLaszlo 4.2.

From customer:
Win XP SP2
Chrome 5.0.375.127
Flash version: WIN 10,1,82,76 (Debug = no)

Yes, I can reproduce the issue quite easily. Here are my steps to reproduce.

1) Open revision 24 of "ESampling iPhone Data Model" document (I've attached this revision as "ESampling_iPhone_Data_Model v24.gxml" ** The contents of this file is confidential ** )
2) Draw a selection box around all items in the page containing "Key" and "Revision History"
3) Drag all selected items to the page to the right and release the mouse
Observe: Sometimes all items correctly are repositioned on the new page; other times some items are left in their original position
4) Click and drag still-selected contents up to the page above (overlapping "HistoricalOrder" boxes). Release mouse button.
Observe: Sometimes all items correctly are repositioned on the new page; other times some items are left in their original position.
5) Select Edit : Undo
Observe: Smeared contents appear in top-left page, as originally reported

I was unable to replicate the text box jumping.
No flash errors noted when following steps outlined by customer.

I did notice that when I click undo (step 5), several of the symbols did not move.
They were indeed selected (see image 'words and symbols selected'), but they did not move when I clicked undo.

The "smeared" text issue was fixed a few releases ago. The remaining issue is that "moving" a line does not currently undo. The symbols you see that didn't move in the example are actually lines.

When the Swimlane feature was implemented a few years back, a bug was introduced that caused Undo of line movement not to function properly.
