SVG imported into Adobe Illustrator does not look right

Open the diagram "Academic"

Export as SVG.

Open the diagram SVG in Adobe Illustrator.

Notice that many of the objects are out of place.


I have seen a few small diagrams render OK.

The strange thing is that other applications like Visio interpret and load the SVG fine. So something within the Adobe Illustrator SVG interpreter is not playing well, or its just not as flexible. We'd need to investigate if we are using certain shapes or methods of configuring objects in SVG that are problematic, and possibly find an alternative that is Illustrator friendly.
